Solar resonant diffusion waves as a driver of terrestrial climate change

نویسنده

چکیده

A theory is described based on resonant thermal diffusion waves in the sun that explains many details of the paleotemperature record for the last 5.3 million years. These include the observed periodicities, the relative strengths of each observed cycle, and the sudden emergence in time for the 100 thousand year cycle. Other prior work suggesting a link between terrestrial paleoclimate and solar luminosity variations has not provided any specific mechanism. The particular mechanism described here has been demonstrated empirically, although not previously invoked in the solar context. The theory, while not without its own unresolved issues, also lacks most of the problems associated with Milankovitch cycle theory. r 2007 Published by Elsevier Ltd.

Cycles and trends in solar irradiance and climate

How—indeed whether—the Sun’s variable energy outputs influence Earth’s climate has engaged scientific curiosity for more than a century. Early evidence accrued from correlations of assorted solar and climate indices, and from recognition that cycles near 11, 88 and 205 years are common in both the Sun and climate.1,2 But until recently, an influence of solar variability on climate, whether thro...

Alfvénic Turbulence in the Extended Solar Corona: Kinetic Effects and Proton Heating

We present a model of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) turbulence in the extended solar corona that contains the effects of collisionless dissipation and anisotropic particle heating. Recent observations have shown that preferential heating and acceleration of positive ions occur in the first few solar radii of the high-speed solar wind. Measurements made by the Ultraviolet Coronagraph Spectrometer ab...

To Investigate Of Change in Waves Height under the influence of climate change using Artificial neural network and wavelet

Prediction of the waves’ specifications that is one of the key factors effective on transformation ofcoasts, production of renewable energies and design of marine structures, has always been importante.Height of the waves is one of the most important and effective parameters of the wave. Differentfactors are effective in variation of the waves’ height. In this research, variation in waves heigh...

Decreasing net primary production due to drought and slight decreases in solar radiation in China from 2000 to 2012

Terrestrial ecosystems have continued to provide the critical service of slowing the atmospheric CO2 growth rate. Terrestrial net primary productivity (NPP) is thought to be a major contributing factor to this trend. Yet our ability to estimate NPP at the regional scale remains limited due to large uncertainties in the response of NPP to multiple interacting climate factors and uncertainties in...
